A CovQ Experience | Greenwich Polo Club | Hyatt Regency
The inaugural edition of The Compounding Loft was selected by the Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) Tech Week team as one of its Top 10 recommended events, alongside events hosted by a16z, Google, IBM, Rippling, and others, from more than 1,500 events taking place across New York City during NY Tech Week 2026.
The second edition extended The Compounding Loft experience to Greenwich, Connecticut, with an executive conversation inspired by the dynamics of polo and the disciplines of intelligence, strategy, and execution.
About The Compounding Loft
The Compounding Loft is a CovQ® experience bringing together leaders, operators, investors, and innovators to explore the ideas, systems, and capabilities that drive sustained value creation and organizational outperformance.
Today’s most important challenges no longer sit within a single function. Strategy, finance, technology, operations, GTM, capital allocation, leadership, and execution are increasingly interconnected. Yet opportunities for leaders from these disciplines to exchange perspectives remain surprisingly rare.
The Compounding Loft was created to help bridge that gap by inspiring, empowering, and connecting people who are building more valuable organizations and, ultimately, Compounding Leaders.
We believe people compound, too.

Executive Summary
Executive Summary
On September 13, 2026, senior executives, investors, operators, technology leaders, advisors, and creative minds gathered in Greenwich, Connecticut, for the second edition of The Compounding Loft.
The day began at Greenwich Polo Club, where the very first guests arrived for a field-side experience surrounding the East Coast Open final. When extraordinary rainfall and flooding forced the cancellation of the public polo program just 75 minutes before CovQ’s scheduled pre-game reception and panel, CovQ responded in real time by assessing alternatives, communicating directly with guests, and relocating the gathering to the rainforest setting of the Hyatt Regency Greenwich.
For those able to navigate the disrupted travel conditions and join the relocated gathering, the unexpected shift created a more direct and highly engaged exchange among panelists and guests.
What began as Polo Dynamics evolved into Polo Dynamics | Rainforest Edition, an executive panel and roundtable centered on a defining question:
How can leaders connect intelligence, strategy, and execution to create measurable enterprise value, particularly when conditions change?
Led by CovQ Founder and CEO Ralf Hirt, the conversation brought together perspectives from GE Aerospace, Horváth USA and Iveniam, with contributions from leaders across SAP, AtlanticNexus, and the broader CovQ ecosystem.
The discussion reinforced a central principle: intelligence and strategy create potential, but value is realized through leadership, alignment, adaptability, disciplined execution and the use of smart technology systems. The key takeaway became increasingly clear throughout the conversation: opportunity is greater than ever, making the activation and completion of strategy more important than ever.
In that sense, polo provided more than the theme. The day itself became a case study in embracing changing circumstances and creating value from the unexpected.
The East Coast Open final was subsequently played, with IGEA defeating FlyHouse 10–9 in a tightly contested match and bringing the Polo Dynamics story to its fitting conclusion.
Opening Remarks
The day opened with remarks from former Bloomberg staff announcer Nick Ciavatta, who served as Master of Ceremonies.
Nick introduced the theme of the gathering and the new CovQ Center for Intelligence, Strategy & Execution (CISE), created to explore and strengthen the connections among intelligence, strategic direction, coordinated action, and measurable outcomes.
CovQ Founder and CEO Ralf Hirt then welcomed panelists and guests and introduced Polo Dynamics and its connection to enterprise value creation.
Polo brings together speed, intelligence, strategy, situational awareness, coordination, timing, adaptability, and disciplined execution. Performance depends not only on the individual player, but also on the alignment of rider and horse, the coordination of the team, the movement of competitors, changing field conditions, and decisions made under pressure. No single variable determines the outcome. 100 horses per game, the field 10 times a football field invite for countless more variables and outcomes.
These dynamics closely resemble value creation inside an organization. Intelligence must be translated into decisions, teams must remain aligned, resources must move in coordination, and strategy must adapt as conditions change.
The unexpected rainforest setting introduced another compelling system. Like organizations, rainforests are complex, interconnected, and constantly evolving. Their resilience depends on relationships across a broader ecosystem, the productive use of available resources, and the ability of many distinct elements to coexist, adapt, and grow.
What began as Polo Dynamics therefore became Polo Dynamics | Rainforest Edition, or, as the group soon came to describe it more playfully, “Polo in the Jungle.”
The setting had changed, but the underlying question had become even more relevant: how can intelligence, strategy, and execution work together to create value under changing conditions?

Together, the panel explored the realities of creating value in an environment shaped by accelerating technological change, artificial intelligence, information of all sorts, growing complexity, and rising expectations for performance.
Rather than focusing solely on technology, the discussion centered on the organizational capabilities and systems required to transform intelligence into measurable outcomes.

Key Perspectives
Value Management Demands Measurable Returns
“We are moving beyond managing projects to managing programs and, ultimately, business value. At global scale, success depends on clear priorities, aligned execution, and transparent reporting. The goal is no longer to report status alone, but to measure the value and ROI delivered. AI-enabled, connected infrastructure will help us do this more consistently and at greater speed, while legacy tools that limit visibility and insight will be retired or move to the background.”
Mary Hlado, GE Aerospace, Sr. PMO Leader
Mary described a shift from tracking projects and activities to managing their measurable value, supported by an integrated infrastructure that gives leaders clear visibility across complex global initiatives.

Unprecedented Opportunities Raise Execution Stakes
“AI is unlocking an enormous growth opportunity, both by uncovering previously inaccessible insight buried in corporate unstructured data and by creating entirely new possibilities for how that data is leveraged. This unlock is creating alpha, new premium on the insight to convert potential into value: disciplined discovery, strategy development, activation, and rigorous execution. These capabilities are increasingly critical to outperformance.”
Richard Walker, President and Chief Strategy Officer, Inveniam IO
Richard emphasized that AI is unlocking data and knowledge long dormant in documents, generating opportunities at unprecedented scale and making the ability to identify, prioritize, and operationalize them a core organizational capability.

Owning the Value Creation Gap
“The joint Horváth | CovQ White Paper made the central challenge clear: the gap between strategy and execution remains one of the greatest barriers to value creation. Closing it requires CFOs to move beyond financial control and become architects of strategic selectivity, aligning capital, priorities, execution, and measurement to create value that compounds. For many organizations, making this shift requires the right expertise, resources, and enabling technology.”
Rene Linsner, Horvath USA, CEO
René connected the persistent gap between strategy and execution with the CFO’s expanding role in aligning capital, priorities, execution, and measurement to create compounding value.

Closing Remarks
Concluding the discussion, Ralf Hirt reflected on the central theme of the evening.
Compounding Up Is an Imperative
“As we discussed value creation, the sun began to break through the atrium roof and illuminate the rainforest around us. It was a fitting conclusion. Just as in polo, those best equipped to outperform combine knowledge, strategy, tactics, grit, and plenty of intelligent horsepower.
Companies must take responsibility for compounding up, because over time, compounding down becomes the default. The encouraging truth is that the outcome remains in our own hands and minds. In the AI age, however, the compounding race is accelerating at unprecedented speed, making the imperative to act even more urgent.”
Ralf Hirt, Founder & CEO, CovQ
Beyond the business focus of the session, Ralf described The Compounding Loft as a place for people across the value creation ecosystem to come together and enjoy diverse perspectives, open dialogue, and inspiring settings.
The Audience
The day brought together leaders from enterprise technology, finance, consulting, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, transformation, the arts, and corporate leadership.
Operators, investors, advisors, founders, and executives exchanged perspectives across industries and disciplines. Conversations continued well beyond the panel, reflecting a shared interest in how organizations can systematically create and compound value.
In an unexpected final twist, the group traded the postponed 2026 East Coast Open Championship Final at Greenwich Polo Club for the US Open Men’s Singles Final at the Hyatt, embracing the change and continuing the experience together.

The Setting
The Setting
The iconic grounds of Greenwich Polo Club and the neighboring Brant Foundation were intended to be more than a backdrop. Their historic stone architecture, vibrant grandstand, and Urs Fischer’s monumental Untitled (Big Clay #3) overlooking the field create a distinctive intersection of high-goal polo, contemporary art, and community, reflecting the vision of club founder and art collector Peter Brant.
When circumstances required a change of venue, The Compounding Loft pivoted to the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, carrying the spirit of the original setting into a new environment complemented by the hotel’s lush, rainforest-inspired backdrop.

The Experience
The Experience
The Compounding Loft was not confined to the panel. The experience had taken shape over several weeks and throughout the polo season through its setting, hospitality, visual identity, and soundtrack, but the people brought it to life.
Their questions, perspectives, and conversations reinforced a central idea: intelligence becomes more valuable when it is shared, challenged, and translated into coordinated action.
Looking Forward
The Compounding Loft is an ongoing series of conversations bringing together leaders from business, technology, finance, academia, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Future gatherings will continue exploring the forces shaping value creation, organizational performance, leadership, and the deployment of intelligence.
As technology accelerates and complexity increases, the need for thoughtful dialogue across disciplines becomes more important, not less.
The Compounding Loft exists to create that space.
